Unique Product Offers Convenient Emergency Care

Charlotte Winter of irving, Tx., is now the proud owner of a filly born Feb. 9, 1996. What makes this event unique is that the delivery was one of the first recorded uses of the new VSI Foal Kit™, a self-contained foal delivery kit for horse owners.

Developed with assistance from the Center for Business and Technical Development at Central Missouri State University, VSI Foal Kit™ was created with extensive input from horse owners and veterinarians. The most important aspect of Foal Kit™ may be the peace of mind it provides horse men and women who know how important it is to be prepared during this often hectic time.

The carefully selected Vet Kit™ contents come double-sealed so that horse owners know they have what they need when an accident strikes. Also included is a complete direction card that assists with emergency treatment of the most common horse injuries and helps the owner gather the right information to give their veterinarian.

Vocational Services is a not-for-profit corporation based in Liberty, Mo. The 28-year-old organization provides employment and other opportunities for people with disabilities. Several staff members are long-time horse lovers and they developed the original Vet Kit™ concept from their own experience. This original product also provides expanded job opportunities for VSI's workers competing in an increasingly global economy.

"It's important that we constantly look for new and expanded opportunities," explained Randy Hylton, VSI executive director. "Products such as Vet Kit are an excellent way to create job opportunities and we have designed Vet Kit to be an excellent product."

Vet Kit™ is available individually or in dealer groups for shops and clubs. For additional information, call 1-800-831-7245.
